Charleston, South Carolina

Named in honor of King Charles II of England, Charleston is known for its architecture, phenomenal culinary scene, and people that are perennially ranked as among the friendliest. Originally the city thrived on its harbor and the cultivation of cotton, indigo, and its own unique rice. Nicknamed, "The Holy City" for its numerous and historic churches the city has also been prevalent in all of our nations wars. Its history of hospitality has made it especially welcoming and Charleston is always ranked among the top cities in the United States to visit.
