St George, Utah

St George is a beautiful town surrounded by red rocks that draws people from all over to see how this middle-of-nowhere town came to be so popular. Between 1857-1858, the LDS church set up experimental farms here, eventually leading to the town to be incorporation in October 1862 by 309 families. Because of the Civil War, President Young decided to create a Cotton Mission since supplies would be limited, which involved many settlers from the south who knew how to grow cotton. Because of this, the cities nickname became "Utah Dixie." Filled with Latter-day Saint history, you'll discover some unique spot to visit here like Dixie College, the Tabernacle, and Thomas Jud's store!
